RACE REPORT: Two Oceans Ultra by Leo Russell
The 2025 Totalsports 56km Two Oceans Ultra Marathon was to date the greatest achievement in my running career as of the present. It was a spectacular event with amazing support and motivation along the way to keep pushing me to my dreams of being the youngest finisher for the 2025 year.

As of currently there are no official results for the youngest finisher, but if I am not, I am sure close to it. With a stunning victory of 4:59:11 securing my first two oceans Sainsbury medal (1/2đ„+1/2đ„).

Extremely stoked with my race. It definitely wasnât easy though, if we rewind âȘ. It began with a faulty pacing on my watch, to pains in my feet at 14km, to me running as far as the 33km mark at the top of Chapmanâs Peak before realising my legs were aching everywhere and it was more difficult to go down than to go up. I managed to keep pushing non-stop to the marathon mark. This is where the real race began and my wheels wanted to fall off, so instead I started walking, did some stretching, took a pain killer and for the last 11km I managed to keep running faster and faster until I could see the light at the end and I knew I wanted to finish with a bang, so I did.

Thank you to everyone that came out to support and a big well done to everyone that managed to start that race, because all of you achieved something remarkable last from first place to past cut off time.
