The event “gees” that I witnessed from runners, water table volunteers and race marshals while traveling around on the race route was amazing. Timbercity, our title sponsor, really came to the party in a big way, and we at Fish Hoek Athletics Club are excited at the prospect of this partnership taking the race to new heights in the coming years.”
Tommy Ball, the Store Manager at Timbercity Tokai, shares the success of the Timbercity Red Hill Marathon. “The logistics team worked tirelessly from 9 am to 8 pm on Friday, setting up field markings and preparing for the race by loading trucks. Starting the day at 2.30 am, they efficiently delivered 7.7 tons of water, 15m3 of ice, and 2500L of Coke to 15 water stations using 4 Hyundai bakkies and 1 Timbercity truck, with support from Coke and Komicx Ice. Branded vehicles received cheers from runners across the deep South as they replenished water points. Following the running field, the team cleaned up the route and concluded their efforts by 12.30 pm. With over 2000 entries for the 3 races and nearly 500 for the 5k fun run, along with a significant number of spectators, the event was a remarkable achievement.”
