Award Scheme: Celebrate Your Achievements

Introduction

Each year, FHAC members have the chance to earn recognition for their hard work and dedication. Our club standards set goal times based on age-graded tables, providing both a clear incentive to improve and a powerful training tool to track progress. Meet the challenge, exceed expectations, and earn your place among the best!

Qualifying Distances

  • 5km, 8km, 10km, 15km, Half Marathon, 30km, Marathon, and the iconic 2 Oceans Ultra.
  • Qualifying races must be official ASA events or FHAC’s Club 5km or 8km Time Trials.
  • (Please note: parkruns or time trials hosted by other clubs do not qualify.)
  • Training runs and shorter splits within longer races do not count. For instance, a Half Marathon standard achieved during a Marathon won’t be valid.

Awards

Achieving a club standard over four of the eight qualifying distances earns you a coveted award. Performances are tracked from November 1 to October 31 each year.
Runners can earn multiple awards across categories (e.g., Gold, Silver, Bronze), but only the lowest category among the four qualifying performances will be awarded for the year.

EXAMPLES
Achieve three Bronze standards and one Copper standard? You’ll receive the Copper award.
Land one Gold, two Silver, and one Bronze standard? Your award will be Bronze.

How It Works

The club standards administrators will monitor performances throughout the year, but runners are encouraged to maintain their own records.
Submit your completed standards (including race venues, distances, dates, and official times) to the Club Standards Coordinator when ready. This is especially important for races outside the province to ensure no achievements are missed. Submission details will be announced soon.

Awards Presentation
Celebrate your success at our annual FHAC Awards Evening! All qualifying runners will receive their awards during this special event.

Resolving Disputes
In the rare event of a disagreement, the issue will be addressed at the next committee meeting. The committee’s decision will be final.
